Hundreds of local protestors took to the streets in downtown Rochester raising their voices about the Occupy Wall Street movement.

Occupy Rochester is an extension of the protest that originally started in New York City and has now gone worldwide. The crowd marched from the federal building to the Liberty Pole Saturday afternoon demanding change within our nation.

The protestors hope efforts will bring jobs, health care and basic civil liberties to all people.

"Desire to raise public awareness. There's been a lot of media black out about it. There hasn't been a lot of coverage about what's going on with this revolution. And I think people are trying to raise awareness to the public about the fact that change is coming," said Mark Cold, Rochester.

The Occupy Rochester movement will continue throughout the week. Protestors plan to march up and down the streets of Rochester every afternoon.
