Two Veterans Outreach Center housing facilities got facelifts Saturday. It's part of a volunteer service event hosted by ITT Exelis Geospatial Systems.

Volunteers painted, cleaned, and worked on some landscaping projects at the VOC's Richards and Otto houses in Rochester.

The event is part of a national initiative that the company is part of; dedicated to supporting returning service members and their families.

"I think just giving back to them and them having the the recognition is good for them, and also gives them opportunities to re-integrate into other communities," said Chris Young, president, ITT Exelis Geospatial Systems.

Young says with being a defense contractor and making products that the military uses, it's important to give back to veterans. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
