Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks has submitted legislation to buy property at the Kodak headquarters for a new downtown MCC campus.
The bill calls for the county to spend just under $3 million for space in five different buildings on the Kodak property. More than half a million square feet would then be renovated into a new campus.
Brooks said she submitted the bill at the request of MCC president Anne Kress. MCC's downtown campus is currently at the Sibley Building, where Rochester city officials have said they hope to keep the college. The college's board of trustees, however, recommended to move.
