Administrators in the Greece Central School District say they are adding extra security at Greece Athena after recent fights on school grounds were posted to the web.
This comes after police charged eleven current and former students for taking part in three fights on two days last week at Athena.
Disorderly conduct charges were filed against eleven boys between the ages of 16 and 19 with one teen also facing a charge of harassment.
"Is it typical for us to have that volume of fights in close proximity? No, that's not typical," said Laurel Heiden, district spokesperson. "It's not something we'd like to replicate and that's why they have these new practices in place where we have additional security, not just until the last bus leaves, but then after, that because the awareness that things can touch off at that time and that's why greater police have been allocated, additional security, and also additional administrators outside after dismissal."
The district says nine students involved in the fighting have also been suspended.
