Sheriff's Deputies in Genesee County believe icy roads combined with speed are to blame for an accident that injured two people in Elba Saturday night.

Deputies say 18-year old Ashley Deskins of Holley was driving northbound on Route 98 near Edgerton Road when she lost control of the car. She went into the opposite lane where she was hit by another car and ended up in a field.

Deskins was taken to Erie County Medical Center and has since been released. Her passenger, 16-year old Jessica Deskins, remains in the trauma unit.

Elba fire officials say there was a baby in the car too, but she was not hurt. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
