Odyssey Academy has an asset in an Air Force veteran volunteering backstage in their production of "South Pacific."

Barry Morgan served in the Air Force during the 1960s and is helping to create a true-to-life "South Pacific."

The musical takes place during World War Two.

Barry and Stage Manager Savanna Clendining, have served as a consultant in all things military. That includes how to salute, stand at attention, and wear a uniform properly. Barry has been volunteering for more than 30 years and at least 10 years have been at Odyssey.

"I love working with the kids," said Morgan. "Every year it's the same thing, you work with them for so long they become your kids after a while and you just kind of treat them like that."

"Mr. Morgan taught me everything that I needed to know to do this," said Clendining. "He says I taught him things, no. I came in here. I did props crew last year and I ushered the year before. I didn't know what I was doing."

People working on the production say Barry's knowledge and background has really made the musical more realistic. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
