Bills Feeling Good After Thursday Night's Win

  • Text size: + -

With a day to digest their prime-time win Thursday night, the Bills were back at the team facility Friday before taking off for the weekend.

"It's a rosier day today. Yes," quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick said. "There is more sunshine in here today than there has been the last few weeks."

Reason to smile for the Bills on Friday, a day after gutting out their first prime-time win in more than a decade. The victory also snapped their three-game losing streak, and ended a string of eight straight losses against division rivals. But more importantly, leaves the door open, if only a crack, for a run toward the postseason.

"When you get a win it is always good," wide receiver Stevie Johnson said. "There are always going to be things that you wish you can make better. When you get the win it is less to stress about."

"You cannot downplay the significance of a win like that," head coach Chan Gailey said. "So it was good, but it is one. We know what is ahead of us and what has got to be done."

Now it's a weekend off for the players to recharge after a short week leading up to the Dolphins game.

"To win a Thursday night game, to now be able to rest Friday, Saturday and Sunday, get an extra day of practice," Fitzpatrick said. "It is an advantage for a team that plays on Thursday night for their next game. So hopefully we can take advantage of it."

An extended weekend for the Bills means fans might have a rooting interest in the Patriots game. New England hosting Indianapolis, the Bills next opponent, and a team they'll have to track down if they have any hopes of making the playoffs. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
