He turned around a slumping program at Syracuse, and now takes over a team that owns the NFL's longest playoff drought at 13 years.

The Associated Press reporting Syracuse's Doug Marrone will be the new head coach of the Bills, but we're still awaiting a formal announcement from the team.

The Bills interviewed a handful of candidates this week, but ultimately landed on Marrone.

He's 48 years old and spent the past four years leading Syracuse to a 25-25 record. Now that might not sound great, but that was a big improvement from previous years for the Orange.

Prior to that, Marrone was an assistant in the NFL; first with the Jets, then as offensive coordinator for the Saints under Sean Payton.

So it's Doug Marrone set to leave Syracuse and become the new man in Buffalo. We'll be sure to bring you the latest information as it becomes available. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
